Kobrin: The Pearl of Belarus
By the Road of Faith is the 2008 theme for Children’s Healthcare Camp near Kobrin, Belarus. Please help the children of Belarus travel this road.
Your financial support will make it possible for 925 children in Belarus to receive medical and spiritual care this summer. Over half of the children come from disadvantaged home settings. Many are orphans or are from a struggling, single-parent family. One third of the children come from regions of Belarus affected by the Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster. All of the children leave having received diagnostic examinations of their medical and dental health. All experience the love and guidance of experienced Bible teachers. Many will return home with a new faith in God.
Budget for the 2008 Children’s Healthcare Camps is approximately $150,000. Scholarship cost for a child (aged 7-13) to attend an 18-day camp is $175. The scholarship cost of a youth (aged 14-17) to attend an 8-day camp is $80. Medical/dental care costs $25 each. High inflation is a persistent problem in operating the camps. Our U. S. dollar, however, continues to make a big impact in Belarus.
