Most pressing financial needs for the summer 2008 at the Children's Health-Improving Center in Kobrin Belarus
For 2008 Children’s Health-Improving Center “Zhemchuzhinka” has plans to take in 960 children over the summer period; repair roofs on the canteen and the Medical Clinic, replace windows in the canteen and the Meetings Hall; purchase additional medical equipment.
So far, realization of this plan was coming along successfully. It was possible to purchase part of the medical equipment, replace the room and the windows. The first lot of children for this summer, a total of 190 kids, is having a great time. They already had their medical check-ups and dental treatment during their 18-day stay at the camp.
However, some unexpected circumstances arose as well. A mission called “Church Development Fund” from Texas had a change of leadership, and was not able to fulfill the obligations it took on itself to help the Camp. Another mission that was sponsoring the teenagers’ camp, as well as the European Baptist Union could not participate in the Health-Improving program for 2008. The “Grain of Wheat” fund also has not made their final decision yet. All this made our task of financing the Health-Improving Camps for 2008 much more difficult. At present, the financial deficit for running the camps is $75,501 USD.
The situation became even worse recently when the engine on a bus, which transports the workers to and from the camp, broke down. The camp grounds are about 7km from the final stop of the public transport in the city. Now we need another $4870 USD to repair the engine.
Thank you once again for caring, and we would really appreciate it if you could look into our situation and help the Camp financially.
May the Lord bless you.
