Generosity Education

• Does your church or ministry have a financial plan?
• Do you have dreams that are currently under-funded?
• Do you have a building with deferred maintenance?
• Will you need to add staff, but don’t know how to pay for them?

Churches are unique organizations with unique needs. Unlike businesses that can just add new products, sell more widgets, or reduce its workforce. The church operates as a ministry, a business, an organism, and an organization.

Where can the local church turn to get help?

MBF has the tools and experience to help the local church create their own customized financial plan for ministry today, tomorrow and ten-thousand tomorrows.

Our MBF president, Dr. Neil Franks, has served as a pastor on a church staff of more than 2,000 members to pastoring a church of fewer than 50 members. Dr. Franks has more than 20 years of church leadership experience to apply to your situation. From building projects, disaster recovery, declining church attendance to a rapidly growing one, his fresh perspective on your situation, may help you create a new perspective on your potential solutions.

As a former pastor of FBC Branson, MO, he saw attendance almost triple and the budget almost double, increasing the staff from 5 to 20, led a 2.7 million dollar building project (which was paid off in three years), all the while doubling missions giving and leading significant structural change.

He, along with the supporting resources of the MBF and their partners, can provide the coaching you need. A limited number of churches involved. Fees based upon the scope of the project, and the size/income
of the church.

Are you looking for a speaker* on the topics of money, finance, or generosity? Maybe you are looking for a guest supply preacher or short-term interim pastor?

Perhaps a Sunday School class, small group or senior adult group wants to make sure they have their “affairs in order.”

Presenters.

Dr. Neil Franks

President and treasurer for the MBF since 2017. He joined the Foundation after 10 years as senior pastor at FBC, Branson, MO, and 20 years in ministry. Dr. Franks has a real heart for leading the church to make an impact in the community. Twice elected the MBC President of the Missouri Baptist Convention and chairman of its executive board, first vice president of the SBC Pastor’s Conference and has served as a trustee at Southwest Baptist University. Franks graduated from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication. He earned a Master of Divinity, BL, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth Texas, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO.

John and Ruth came to Second Baptist, Springfield, Missouri, in No- November 1995, and retired from there 22 years later. While Dr. Marshall was Pastor at Second, the church was annually the highest contributor in Missouri to the Cooperative Program, and one of the state leaders in baptism. The church began giving over a million dollars a year to missions, plus in the Marshalls’ last seven years at Second, the church gave $2.6 million to church planting and started 51 churches.
