In 2022, the Missouri Baptist Foundation (MBF) recognized a need to support Missouri Baptist Convention churches in overcoming financial barriers and help churches expand, enhance, and improve their ministries through targeted projects and events; thus, the MBF church grant program was born.
Since its inception, the foundation has received over 130 grant applications and, thanks to the generosity of faithful Missouri Baptists, has distributed more than $230,000 to MBC churches for their various projects and events. Examples of funded initiatives include the creation of community parks, remodeling of Awana children’s spaces, relocation of nursery areas, repairs to baptisteries, establishment of internships, organization of block parties, development of donation closets, support for foster families, and much more! (You can read some of their success stories below.)
We look forward to assisting churches in making a positive impact on their members and communities with the Gospel throughout Missouri.
The application period is currently closed. Grant recipients will be announced on our website, through social media, and during the Missouri Baptist Foundation report at the 2025 MBC Annual Meeting in Branson on October 28th, 2025.
*Note: Recipients of the $5,000 grant from last year are not eligible for this year’s funding but may reapply next year.
Before Youth Minister Jimmy Bagwell and his family moved to Memphis, Mo., three years ago, he was told that the cows in the town outnumbered people ten to one. (With a population of about 1,700 people, you can do the math.) But beyond the hooves and hayfields, the heart of this rural town beats for […]
St. Louis-On Christmas Day, the Nepali Gospel Church of St. Louis did not just celebrate the holiday—its congregation opened their doors and hearts to neighbors who may have never heard the message of Jesus. With the warmth of fellowship and the joy of the season in the air, 180 people—many from Hindu and Buddhist backgrounds—gathered […]

Project: Family Ministry Space Renovation Project Purpose: In Summer 2022, the lower level of the church was flooded, followed by bursting pipes later the same year. The space is home to Cross Keys’ Children’s Ministry and vibrant sewing ministry, so completing renovations was essential. Renovations are now completed, and the new space was dedicated with […]
Project: Baptismal Renovation Project Purpose: Grant funds contributed to the renovation of the church baptismal, both in design and function. After a water line break and years of irregular baptisms, filling the baptismal was done by running a garden hose from the outside through the sanctuary. But in the past year, God has done amazing […]
