FAQs

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
You are welcome to apply for more than one scholarship if you meet the eligibility requirements. However, applicants will not be awarded multiple scholarships.
What do I do on the application if I attend one school and I'm transferring to another in the fall?
Please apply using the name of the school you’re transferring to because that’s where the scholarship funds will be sent.
Who can I reach out to if I have any questions or I’m having issues submitting my application?

Please contact our Client Services team at the Missouri Baptist Foundation using the following contact information: (573) 761-0717 or info@mbfn.org

Can I still turn in an application on March 6th?

You can submit an application until 5:00 p.m. on March 6th. Applications will not be accepted after that time.

Will my application be considered late if my reference(s) haven’t submitted my reference forms?

Your application and all necessary references must be received by the 5:00pm cut-off time for your application to be considered. Keep bugging your references about getting it done for you!

What criteria is used by the board to determine who the scholarship is awarded to?
Each applicant’s essay is reviewed and scored on a scale of 1-5. Factors that are considered during the application review are below:
  1. The selection committee seeks to identify how valuable the scholarship is to applicants based on their ability to pursue higher education goals. The closer these goals are aligned to a Kingdom purpose, the better.
  2. No explicit scale is used to score grammar and spelling, but a college student (of any level) understands how such errors can be distracting in an essay. Students are not penalized for grammar and spelling alone, but such errors can certainly diminish the quality of the essay.
  3. While the essay is the most significant portion of the application as it captures the student’s heart, the committee does consider GPA. The committee may also consider recommendations from the applicant’s reference(s). All of the information requested on the application is given to the selection committee during their review.
