- The selection committee seeks to identify how valuable the scholarship is to applicants based on their ability to pursue higher education goals. The closer these goals are aligned to a Kingdom purpose, the better.
- No explicit scale is used to score grammar and spelling, but a college student (of any level) understands how such errors can be distracting in an essay. Students are not penalized for grammar and spelling alone, but such errors can certainly diminish the quality of the essay.
- While the essay is the most significant portion of the application as it captures the student’s heart, the committee does consider GPA. The committee may also consider recommendations from the applicant’s reference(s). All of the information requested on the application is given to the selection committee during their review.
